OSASUNA PREVIEW: RESULTS NOT A FAIR REFLECTION

After the 2022/23 campaign in which Osasuna qualified for the UEFA Europa Conference League with a seventh placed finish as well as reaching the Copa del Rey final, the Pamplona-based club lost manager Jago Arrasate in the summer due to a season in which they stagnated during the 2023/24 season.

This time around, now under the management of former Almeria boss Vicente Moreno, Osasuna come into this one on the back of a 3-1 defeat away to Rayo Vallecano, which was reflective of their poor performances throughout the campaign, despite the fact they have somehow managed two victories.

LAS PALMAS PREVIEW: ADAPTING CANARIANS

Last season, following promotion back to La Liga, Las Palmas comfortably survived and even looked as though they may have a tilt at a top seven finish and European qualification at one stage. The Canary Islanders faded before manager Garcia Pimienta departed the club for Sevilla to be replaced by Luis Carrion.

Another graduate of La Masia at Barcelona, Luis Carrion is attempting to play a fluent style of football with the Canary Islanders but they have been underwhelming so far. With Sandro Ramirez and Oli McBurnie forming a strike partnership, they have managed to collect just two points in their opening five matches.

OSASUNA TEAM NEWS: KEY INJURIES

Osasuna are dealing with a couple of key injury absentees at the moment with long-term absentee Kike Barja being joined on the sidelines by midfielder Iker Munoz.

Osasuna should have quite a fun and entertaining team to watch, especially with Lucas Torro and Aimar Oroz supporting what is a fun front three.

PREDICTED XI (4-3-3): Sergio Herrera; Jesus Areso, Alejandro Catena, Boyomo, Abel Bretones; Jon Moncayola, Lucas Torro, Aimar Oroz; Ruben Garcia, Raul Garcia, Bryan Zaragoza

UNAVAILABLE: Iker Munoz (Injured), Kike Barja (Injured)

LAS PALMAS TEAM NEWS: JANUZAJ INCHING CLOSER

Since joining the club in the summer from Sevilla, former Manchester United and Sunderland winger Adnan Januzaj has been out injured but the Belgium international is nearing a return.

As well as Januzaj, Las Palmas are without defender Alex Suarez as they seek to find a balance to better support the aforementioned duo of Sandro Ramirez and McBurnie.

PREDICTED XI (4-5-1): Cillessen; Park, Fabio Gonzalez, McKenna, Mika Marmol; Sandro Ramirez, Javi Munoz, Jose Campana, Kirian Rodriguez, Alberto Moleiro; McBurnie

UNAVAILABLE: Alex Suarez (Injured)

QUESTIONABLE: Januzaj (Injured)

OSASUNA VS LAS PALMAS PREDICTION

Osasuna have the potential be very fun and chaotic this season but the fact remains that there is something of an expectation that they will struggle against the drop. Las Palmas would like to believe they have the potential for fun and they have shown some quality and creativity at times this season, without the desired results. Both sides may struggle but it could be quite a fun game for the neutral in which both teams scoring seems a good bet at El Sadar.
