OSASUNA
It had to be an extremely impressive campaign by Osasuna and Jago Arrasate to live up to last season’s endeavours whereby they finished seventh, thus qualifying for the UEFA Europa Conference League, as well as reaching the final of the Copa del Rey. They did endured a difficult opening to the season but now sit comfortably in mid-table.
They are comfortably in mid-table and eight points off the top seven and the European spots ahead of this weekend’s round of fixtures. In mid-January, Sergio was replaced by former Southampton boss Mauricio Pellegrino with Cadiz badly struggling and sitting in the bottom three and the relegation places ahead of this weekend and their current 18th placed position actually flattering the Andalusians with the bulk of their points coming earlier on in the season.
In fact, Cadiz managed two victories in their opening four matches of the campaign but they have since endured a 20-match winless run of form in La Liga which leaves them three points adrift of safety. They come into this one on the back of a 2-0 loss at home to regional rivals Real Betis, which followed back-to-back goalless draws.

THE PREDICTION
Despite the appointment of Mauricio Pellegrino almost immediately bringing about some more rigidity at the back with back-to-back goalless draws against Athletic Club and Villarreal, Cadiz remain absolutely destined for the second-tier but will be thankful for a bright start to the season giving them a chance. They go away to an Osasuna side that are steady in the middle-of-the-table and, with their home advantage, should win a low-scoring encounter on Saturday afternoon.
