Jose Bordalas has previously led Getafe to the knockout stages of the UEFA Europa League in his first stint in charge of the capital city club. His style of football has always been backs against the wall and an extension of ‘Cholismo’ but to an extreme extent where they are always at the bottom or near the bottom of the fair play table.
With such a depleted squad, Jose Bordalas has got his Getafe side to make things extremely difficult for their opposition and extremely tedious for watching neutrals. On the opening weekend of the season, they shared a 1-1 draw at San Mames against Athletic Club before then producing one of the worst games of football that has ever been played, genuinely not an exaggeration, in a goalless draw against Rayo Vallecano.
REAL SOCIEDAD PREVIEW: LA REAL’S TOUGH START
Real Sociedad will be concerned about the fact that Getafe are going to make this absolutely miserable to play against them this weekend because the usual fast starters of La Real have struggled at the start of this season.
Their fall off usually happens in the second-half of a campaign due to having one of the most intense pressing styles anywhere in European football but Real Sociedad have begun with two home defeats against Rayo and Deportivo Alaves, sandwiching a slender 1-0 victory over newly-promoted Espanyol in Catalonia in August.
