THE LOWDOWN
GETAFE
In his second stint in charge of Getafe, Jose Bordalas is producing yet another effective and difficult to play against Getafe side that are challenging for a top seven finish and potential European qualification this season. The Madrid-based club come into this weekend sitting tucked inside the top-half of the table but on the back of a poor run of recent form.
The hosts’ most recent outing saw them take an early lead via a Mason Greenwood penalty at the Benito Villamarin against Real Betis before Isco scored a penalty later on in that game to equalise. That 1-1 draw means they have now managed just one win in their last six matches in La Liga but they remain just five points off the top five.
CELTA VIGO
Throughout this season, Celta Vigo have underperformed their general expectations in terms of results but performances remained steady and improving so the Celta hierarchy stuck by Rafa Benitez and that has proven to be the right decision. The Galicians remain in the battle against the drop but are most definitely trending upwards and away from the bottom three.
Having said that, though, the former Liverpool and Real Madrid boss had coming under pressure once again after they suffered successive defeats in the league and cup to Real Sociedad before losing at home to title challenging Girona. They stopped that streak, though, with an emphatic and impressive 3-0 hammering of Osasuna in Pamplona, though.

THE PREDICTION
This is a clash between two of the more reactive and defensive managers in Spain’s top-flight as Jose Bordalas takes on Rafa Benitez at the Coliseum. Both sides have effective ways of playing, albeit the visitors have only recently stumbled upon that effectiveness in recent weeks. Getafe are challenging for Europe and Celta are battling against relegation but they do both appear evenly matched so a low-scoring affair is to be expected on Sunday.
