THE LOWDOWN
UDINESE
It has been a bizarre campaign for Udinese thus far as they languish in the bottom-half of Serie A but clear of the bottom three and the relegation places, despite the fact that the Friulians have managed just three victories in their 26 matches so far this season with 14 draws and nine defeats leaving them in the relegation battle.
Former Crawley Town boss Gabriele Cioffi replaced Andrea Sottil a couple of months ago and they have remained resolute defensively. The visitors come into this one on the back of a 2-0 defeat away to Genoa in their most recent outing last weekend with Mateo Retegui and Marco Bani scoring the goals in the first-half before Thomas Kristensen got sent off for Udinese.
SALERNITANA
It has been a really, really bad season for Salernitana as they are already in a position where they are destined for the drop and it is more a question of when, rather than if, they are relegated back down to Serie B. They begin the 27th match day of the 2023/24 Serie A campaign sitting seven points adrift of safety.
Salernitana, who have been coached by Paulo Sousa and Filippo Inzaghi so far this season but are now being led by Fabio Liverani, with just two wins in their 26 matches so far this season. Their most recent outing saw them defeated by two goals to nil by Monza last weekend with late goals from Daniel Maldini and Matteo Pessina.
THE TEAM NEWS

SALERNITANA
Salernitana have a few injury issues for the trip north to Friuli as defenders Lorenzo Pirola and Norbert Gyomber are out, with Niccolo Pierozzi a doubt, too.
PREDICTED XI (3-4-2-1): Ochoa; Pasalidis, Manolas, Pellegrino; Zanoli, Basic, Coulibaly, Bradaric; Kastanos, Candreva; Weissmann
UNAVAILABLE: Pirola (Injured), Gyomber (Injured)

THE PREDICTION
Backing a team that have managed just three wins by March would appear quite a risk but, quite frankly, Udinese are the overwhelming favourites for this one. Salernitana are just waiting for the inevitable to be confirmed and, albeit potentially not likely to be a high-scoring hammering, Udinese should win quite comfortably. The Friulians should be more than capable and confident of shitting Salernitana out this weekend, too.
TIP: UDINESE TO WIN TO NIL
