It has been quite a bizarre campaign for Udinese this season as they hover just a few points above the bottom three and the relegation places. The Friulians, coached by former Crawley Town boss Gabriele Cioffi who replaced Andrea Sottil a few months ago, have managed just four victories in their 30 matches so far this season.
The northeast club come into this one on the back of their 16th draw of the Serie A season as they shared a 1-1 draw with fellow strugglers Sassuolo last weekend. Gregoire Defrel scored a 41st minute opening goal in that game before former Newcastle winger Florian Thauvin equalised just before half-time.
INTER MILAN
Coached by Simone Inzaghi, Internazionale are the champions-elect and they are closing in on their 20th Scudetto and a second star on the badge. The Nerazzurri begin this weekend’s round of fixtures sitting 14 points clear at the top-of-the-table with just 24 points to play for the 2023/24 Serie A campaign.
Inter’s most recent outing saw them comfortably defeat Empoli by two goals to nil in their most recent outing at San Siro last weekend with goals from Federico Dimarco and Alexis Sanchez on Easter Monday. They have scored 16 goals more than anyone else in the league and conceded ten goals fewer than anyone.
