THE LOWDOWN

TORINO

Torino have often flattered to deceive in Serie A under Ivan Juric with their generally easy on the eye style of football often leading to a lack of goals. For example, even though they begin this weekend’s round of fixtures sitting just about in the top-half of the table, they have scored just 23 goals this season with just two teams scoring fewer than them.

The home team come into this one on the back of a solid 2-0 victory over Lecce ibn their most recent outing, last weekend, with goals in the second-half being scored by Raoul Bellanova and Duvan Zapata. They are now unbeaten in their last six matches in Serie A, conceding just two goals in those six matches with just 20 let in in 24 this season.

LAZIO

In what has been an underwhelming season for Lazio, things have begun to gradually improve over the last couple of months under the management of former Chelsea boss Maurizio Sarri, who has been under pressure throughout the campaign. They enjoyed a famous win against Bayern Munich by a goal to nil in the first-leg of their UEFA Champions League Round of 16 tie at the Stadio Olimpico last week.

However, they have now managed just one win in their last four Serie A matches after suffering a 2-1 defeat at home to Bologna last week. Gustav Isaksen gave Lazio the lead in the 18th minute in that game but they conceded to goals from Oussama El Azzouzi and Joshua Zirkzee to mean that the capital city club sit just outside of the top seven and the European spots.

THE TEAM NEWS

TORINO

Ivan Juric has several injury concerns for this weekend with both Alessandro Buongiorno and Perr Schuurs joining Ricardo Rodriguez on the sidelines for this one.

PREDICTED XI (3-4-1-2): Milinkovic-Savic; Djidji, Lovato, Masina; Bellanova, Ricci, Ilic, Lazaro; Vlasic; Pellegri, Zapata

UNAVAILABLE: Buongiorno (Injured), Schuurs (Injured), Rodriguez (Injured)

QUESTIONABLE: N’Guessan (Injured)

LAZIO

Lazio have a couple of absentees for this weekend’s trip north to Turin as both Nicolo Rovella and Mattia Zaccagni are unavailable due to injury.

PREDICTED XI (4-3-3): Provedel; Lazzari, Patric, Gila, Marusic; Guendouzi, Cataldi, Luis Alberto; Isaksen, Immobile, Anderson

UNAVAILABLE: Rovella (Injured), Zaccagni (Injured)

QUESTIONABLE:

THE PREDICTION

These two teams are both sitting in the top-half of the table and they are both aiming for European qualification but neither of them are overly convincing. As mentioned, only two teams have struggled to find the net as often as Torino, whilst Lazio have only scored 29 goals for themselves in Serie A so far this season. There appears to be something almost inevitable about the fact that this one is going to be low-scoring with fewer than three goals seeming very likely.

TIP: UNDER 2.5 GOALS
