The home team come into this one on the back of another deflating but valiant outing as they shared a goalless draw away from home with mid-table Torino last weekend.
They are rock-bottom and begin the match day five points adrift of safety with just two victories in their 23 matches so far this season. Yet, fairly remarkably given that, their goalless draw with Torino was the first time in over two months where they didn’t score a goal; a total of nine matches across all competitions.
EMPOLI
Sitting just a place above Salernitana in the Serie A table are their upcoming opponents, Empoli. Empoli also made an early season swap in the dugout with Aurelio Andreazzoli replacing Paolo Zanetti but he has already been replaced by the Serie A miracle worker, Davide Nicola, who has helped both Crotone and, indeed, Salernitana pull off great escapes in recent years.

THE PREDICTION
These are the two bottom sides in Serie A heading into the weekend but neither of them will genuinely view themselves or believe they are among the weakest two teams in the league, especially with their recent improving performances. Salernitana, as mentioned, have the capability of scoring in pretty much any game against pretty much any opposition, whilst Davide Nicola will eye this one up as a major chance for three points for Empoli.
