THE LOWDOWN
LECCE
Lecce gained promotion to the top-flight in 2022, under the management of Marco Baroni. They achieved a mid-table finish in 2023 playing an impressive style of football but eventually lost Baroni to a Hellas Verona side expected to be battling alongside them down at the bottom end of the table. The replacement was former Benevento coach, Roberto D’Aversa.
After a positive start to the campaign, Lecce have drifted into the middle-of-the-table. Back-to-back draws against Udinese and Sassuolo either side of the international break has extended their current winless run of form to four matches but they do begin this weekend’s round of fixtures sitting in the top-half of the table.
TORINO
Under the tutelage of Ivan Juric, Torino have often flattered to deceive. The former Hellas Verona coach has implemented a progressive and pleasing style of football but the lack of efficiency and incision in attack has been a consistent issue, especially since the loss of Andrea Belotti at the start of last season.
In their opening nine matches of the 2023/24 Serie A campaign, Torino have managed just two victories and they come into this on the back of a 3-0 hammering at the hands of Internazionale in their most recent outing, last weekend, prior to the international break. They have scored just six goals in nine matches so far this season.

Torino will be without a couple of key defensive players for this weekend’s trip to Lecce as both Perr Schuurs and Brandon Soppy are unavailable.

THE PREDICTION
These two sides begin the weekend’s round of fixtures sitting in the bottom-half of the table and they have combined for just 16 goals so far this season. Lecce’s nine matches have consisted of just 21 goals, whilst Torino’s nine games have consisted of 18 goals. That lack of goals so far means the likelihood, between two relatively evenly matched sides, is another low-scoring encounter with under 2.5 goals.
BETTING TIP: UNDER 2.5 GOALS
