THE LOWDOWN

JUVENTUS

The Old Lady had seemingly done enough to grind their way into the Italian title race this season but, instead, they begin the 26th match day of the 2023/24 Serie A campaign sitting nine points adrift of league leaders Internazionale, having played a game more than the Nerazzurri, too. Juventus come into this one on the back of some poor recent form.

Massimiliano Allegri’s Bianconeri shared a 2-2 draw with Hellas Verona last weekend in a game in which Dusan Vlahovic and Adrien Rabiot both had to score equalising goals. They are now winless in their last four matches in Serie A after back-to-back defeats to Udinese and the aforementioned Inter came after a 1-1 draw at home to Empoli in Turin.

FROSINONE

Following promotion last season, Frosinone immediately took the decision to replace manager Fabio Grosso with former Roma boss Eusebio Di Francesco. Seeking to implement an attacking style of football, the Romans have been good to watch back up in Serie A this season with their 25 matches consisting of 84 goals thus far.

They could do with picking up some results fairly soon, though, as they begin this weekend’s round of fixtures sitting just three points outside of the bottom three and the relegation places. They come into this one on the back of being beaten 3-0 at home by capital city rivals Roma in their most recent outing, last weekend.

THE PREDICTION

This meeting at the J Stadium this weekend is most definitely one of a clash of styles. Juventus, as mentioned, have been grinding out results throughout the season up until the last month or so. Despite sitting second in the table, they have only scored 38 goals in 25 matches. Frosinone will go to Turin and believe they have a really good chance of scoring and Juve did let up their guard last week to concede twice against Verona. Juve should come out on top but both teams scoring wouldn’t be a bad bet for this one.

TIP: JUVENTUS TO WIN & BOTH TEAMS TO SCORE
