SCOTLAND VS PORTUGAL PREDICTION

Scotland pushed Portugal extremely hard in the reverse fixture, taking the lead early on before eventually succumbing to a 2-1 defeat following Cristiano Ronaldo’s 88th minute winner. But the Scots are now suffering through the longest winless run in their history, having gone nine competitive games with victory (drawing three and losing six). Confidence must be extremely low within Steve Clarke’s squad.

Portugal will have to be patient and have shown defensive fragilities in the past when facing overly defensive teams who look to hit them the counter-attack and score from set plays. But it’s hard not to see them getting the job done eventually when taking into account the struggles of Scotland and how little has gone their way of late. Back an away win in this one.
