THE PREDICTION
Although Italy were frustrated at seeing their 11-match winning streak come to an end with a 1-1 draw against Bosnia and Herzegovina on their return to action at the start of September, they bounced right back with a notable 1-0 victory against the Netherlands three days later and they go into this game unbeaten in their last 16 fixtures. Robert Mancini has named a large squad of 34 players for this trio of October international games - they also face Poland and the Netherlands - so he is likely to shuffle his pack for this match against Moldova, with the UEFA Nations League matches being an obvious priority. Maldini has still spoken about the importance of winning every fixture they go into so don’t expect a sloppy performance regardless of who takes to the field.
