THE PREDICTION
Mauritania come into this on the back of a 2-0 defeat against Mali to complete three successive defeats in the group stages of the Africa Cup of Nations. They failed to score in any of those group stage matches and are now winless in their last ten matches across all competitions since confirming their qualification for AFCON in March 2021. They now come up against a Mozambique side that faced a tough FIFA World Cup qualifying group in the Autumn of 2021 which included Cameroon and the Ivory Coast. They took a respectable four points against Malawi but were eliminated. A low-scoring match with under 2.5 goals appears an inevitability for this one.
