ICELAND PREVIEW: UNABLE TO BACK UP MONTENEGRO TRIUMPH

Iceland had a mixed first international break of the season, competing in two Nations League fixtures with differing results. After beating Montenegro by two goals to nil at home, they were outclassed by Türkiye only a few days later. Benfica’s Kerem Akturkoglu scored a hat-trick as Iceland fell victims to a 3-1 defeat. Three points here though, would take them above Wales and potentially Türkiye as well should they drop points against Montenegro.

WALES PREVIEW: BELLAMY ERA OFF TO PROMISING START

Wales fans have reason to be optimistic again after the first two games of Craig Bellamy’s reign as head coach. A fighting scoreless draw against Türkiye was backed up by Wales’ first Nations League win of the group stage. A lightning start saw Bellamy’s side go two goals ahead within the opening five minutes vs Montenegro and a resilient defensive performance saw them eventually hold on for a 1-2 win.

ICELAND VS WALES PREDICTION

The big question heading into this match is whether we will see the famous ‘new manager bounce’ continue for Bellamy after promising first couple of games. Clearly the mood within Wales’ camp is good and Joe Allen returning to fold provides a crucial injection of experience. Iceland are certainly not to be underestimated, but Wales may just have that little extra class going forward that could edge this one. Consider utilising the draw no bet market to back a Wales win.
