Ramaz Svanadze’s Georgian side are appearing at their first ever UEFA Under-21 European Championships, having qualified as hosts. The Crusaders prepared for this opening group stage match with a 2-0 win over Cyprus last week. They have suffered just three defeats in 14 matches but one of those defeats was indeed a 4-1 hammering at the hands of Portugal. Rui Jorge’s ‘Esperances’ will believe they can go one further than their current ‘best performance’ at this tournament which was finishing as runners’ up three times, including in 2021. A comfortable Portuguese win is expected in Tbilisi.
