WOLFSBURG PREVIEW: BRILLIANT RESPONSE TO ST. PAULI STALEMATE
The bad news for Wolfsburg is that they have gained just one point across their last two Bundesliga fixtures. A 2-4 defeat at home to Werder Bremen extended what has been a miserable record at home for them in the league so far this season and that was followed up by a 0-0 draw away at St. Pauli.
However, the reaction from Wolfsburg was excellent, as they came through a gruelling DFB-Pokal showdown with Borussia Dortmund, winning in extra time thanks to a 117th minute winner from substitute Jonas Wind.
AUGSBURG PREVIEW: BACK-TO-BACK VICTORIES IN THE SPACE OF THREE DAYS
What a week it’s been for Augsburg. Not only did they record their third home league win of the season, shocking Borussia Dortmund with a memorable 2-1 triumph, but Jess Thorup’s side also comfortably overcame Schalke 04 by three goals to nil in the DFB-Pokal second round only a few days later.
The result vs Dortmund leaves Augsburg solidly mid-table as it stands, sitting in 12th-place with ten points from eight matches. All three of their wins though have come at home and the next challenge for them is to arrest their away slump.
WOLFSBURG TEAM NEWS: WIMMER STILL SUSPENDED, BUT ARNOLD BACK
After playing in midweek, captain Maximilian Arnold returns from suspension for the hosts in the Bundesliga, but Patrick Wimmer serves the second game of his ban after his red card vs Werder Bremen.

AUGSBURG TEAM NEWS: CLAUDE MAURICE LOCKED IN AFTER DORTMUND BRACE
Robert Tietz and Samuel Essende are more than likely battling to partner Alexis Claude Morris in the Augsburg attack. Aside from this, it would be no surprise to see the same starting XI as that who begun against Dortmund.
PREDICTED XI (5-3-2): Labrovic; Wolf, Matsima, Gouweleeuw, Schlotterbeck, Giannoulis; Onyeka, Rexhbecaj, Jakic; Essende, Claude Maurice

WOLFSBURG VS AUGSBURG PREDICTION
The big question from a Wolfsburg perspective is how much the win in midweek took out of them from a physical perspective having gone through extra time. Augsburg are in red hot form following their results this past week and momentum can go a long way in this game. Therefore, it’s well worth considering utilising the double chance market and backing the visitors to gain at least a point, if not all three.
