STUTTGART PREVIEW: FINALLY ON THE WINNERS BOARD

After a slow start to the campaign, Stuttgart got their first victory of the Bundesliga season and did so on the road, beating Borussia Monchengladbach 1-3. Deniz Undav opened the scoring and despite Stuttgart equalising soon after, Stuttgart took control in the second half and Demirovic’s brace wrapped up the points.

Having conceded five more goals than their opponents here, Stuttgart will need to be better defensively in this match, but their mantra has always been that of an ultra-attacking unit and that is unlikely to change, regardless of the opponent.

BORUSSIA DORTMUND PREVIEW: STILL UNBEATEN UNDER SAHIN

Borussia Dortmund were involved in an entertaining home clash with Heidenheim last time out in the Bundesliga, eventually winning 4-2 to end Heidenheim’s 100% start to the season in all competitions. They have since back that up with a hard-fought 0-3 victory over Club Brugge in their first Champions League game of the new campaign.

Once again, Jamie Bynoe-Gittens came off the bench to score two goals, this time in Europe, further proving the strength-in-depth possessed by Nuri Sahin among his squad, which bodes well for them moving forward.

BORUSSIA DORTMUND TEAM NEWS: REYNA ONLY MAN OUT FOR DORTMUND

USA international Giovanni Reyna is set to be out for a number of weeks and after missing the win over Heidenheim, the midfield will be out for this game as well. Aside from him, Sahin should have everybody available for selection.

UNAVAILABLE: Reyna (Injured)

STUTTGART VS BORUSSIA DORTMUND PREDICTION

Sahin is getting a serious tune out of Borussia Dortmund at present, especially from an offensive point of view with them having really improved going forward over the past week. With goalkeeper Gregor Kobel continuing to prove himself as one of the best in the world right now, that will make it difficult for Stuttgart to outscore them here. Expect a close game, but in current form, Borussia Dortmund are the team worth backing.
