MAINZ PREVIEW: INCONSISTENCY REMAINS RIFE AMONG HOST CAMP

Mainz continue to follow up victory with defeat and vice-versa, which at least bodes for them heading into this latest game. A win here would mean Mainz will have followed up each of their last three losses, with a victory in their following match. It would also represent only their third triumph of the season and the ideal way of bouncing back after being outclassed by RB Leipzig.

BORUSSIA MONCHENGLADBACH PREVIEW: TWO WINS FROM LAST THREE REPRESENTS PROGRESS

Borussia Monchengladbach are starting to slowly but surely improve, but it’s crucial they remain focused as this next match could easily end up becoming somewhat of a ‘trap game’ for them. Their last two victories have come against Union Berlin and Heidenheim respectively, with defeat away at Augsburg sandwiched in-between those two results.

MAINZ VS BORUSSIA MONCHENGLADBACH PREDICTION

Both these teams will sense the opportunity to win here, with Mainz especially desperate for a positive result being at home. As such, it would be no surprise to see a largely attacking playstyle from the two sides. Expect chances at either end and regardless of who has the better of things, backing over 2.5 goals scored appears sensible.

MAINZ VS BORUSSIA MONCHENGLADBACH TIP: OVER 2.5 GOALS
