FREIBURG PREVIEW: MIXED START FOR FREIBURG WITH EASIER TESTS TO COME ON PAPER

Freiburg can take heart from their showing in Munich despite defeat, having registered nine shots compared to Bayern’s 12 with three being on target. They had chances even with a lack of possession but ultimately didn’t take them, which you can’t afford to do against a side of the Rekordmeister’s quality.

It’s been a tough start to the season for Freiburg, facing two of last season’s top three in the opening two weeks of the Bundesliga’s resumption, but a home clash with Bochum offers them a chance to really boss proceedings across 90 minutes.

BOCHUM PREVIEW: VISITORS ALREADY BRACED FOR A SEASON-LONG DOGFIGHT

Unfortunately for Bochum, early signs are that it could be another struggle for them and a relegation battle down the line. It’s two games played, no points, no goals scored and three conceded following defeats against RB Leipzig and Borussia Monchengladbach respectively and fans have every right to be concerned.

Whilst RB Leipzig is never easy, they played a chunk of that match against ten-men and would’ve had hope of victory vs Gladbach at home, but fired blanks going forward and were duly punished at the other end.

FREIBURG VS BOCHUM PREDICTION

This represents a tall order for Bochum, who will do extremely well to get anything out of this one. The expectation is that Freiburg are going to be very strong at home this campaign and that was demonstrated by how they overcame Stuttgart in their last game on their own patch. With the strength-in-depth at their disposal, even without Gregoritsch, this one should end with Freiburg picking up three points.
