THE PREDICTION

On the back of their historic first Champions League group stage fixture in their history, Eintracht Frankfurt must now turn their attention to Bundesliga action as they host Wolfsburg. As we saw back when the visitors competed in the Champions League last season, the group stage had an extremely negative effect on their domestic form, such are the physical exertions of those midweek games. It would be no surprise to see Eintracht Frankfurt similarly effected and this should benefit Wolfsburg going forward, with their attack finally offering a cutting-edge last weekend vs Koln even if the match did end in a 2-4 defeat. Despite that though, it’s hard to see a Wolfsburg defence who are conceding an average of two goals per game in the Bundesliga keeping out the hosts across 90 minutes, so it would be a sensible play to back both teams to score here.
