BORUSSIA MONCHENGLADBACH PREVIEW: UNDERACHIEVING CAMPAIGN SO FAR

Borussia Monchengladbach are looking anxiously over the shoulders as they hover just two points above the Bundesliga’s bottom three. They failed to adequately back up a hard-fought victory against Union Berlin, going down 2-1 to Augsburg last time out, making it three losses in four league matches.

Gladbach should really be higher in the table when you consider some of the players within their team, especially in attack. The likes of Plea, Kleindenst and Honorat do not belong at a side scrapping down the wrong end of the Bundesliga.

HEIDENHEIM PREVIEW: BALANCING COMMITMENTS REMAINS TROUBLESOME

Competing in both the Bundesliga and for the first time ever, Europe was always going to prove difficult for a smaller club like Heidenheim. After racking up points early on in the season, results domestically have taken somewhat of a nosedive for Frank Schmidt’s side since the beginning of their European commitments.

Two of Heidenheim’s last three league fixtures has seen them fail to score, losing on both occasions, although they still boast a 100% record in what is their first-ever Europa Conference League campaign.

BORUSSIA MONCHENGLADBACH VS HEIDENHEIM PREDICTION

Neither Borussia Monchengladbach, not Heidenheim will want to come out with nothing immediately following the international break after having had two weeks to work on what has gone wrong for them both recently. Any risks and overly aggressive play going forward that leaves either of these sides vulnerable to a counter-attack are not likely to be in high supply and it’s worth backing the pair to settle for a point apiece.
