THE PREDICTION

Augsburg went into the Bundesliga winter break on the back of some really underwhelming form. The home team’s 3-0 hammering at the hands of high flying Stuttgart means they have managed just one victory in their last seven matches in Germany’s top-flight. They now face a Bayer Leverkusen side that, coached by Xabi Alonso, have been simply magnificent. They are the Bundesliga league leaders with 13 victories and three draws, scoring 46 goals in 16 matches in that time. Across all competitions, Leverkusen have won 22 and drawn three of 25 matches and they have scored 81 goals in those games. They are without some key players for this weekend but, after a rest, they should get back into the flow of it with a win here.

TIP: LEVERKUSEN TO WIN
