THE LOWDOWN

PSG

Paris Saint-Germain have already been crowned champions of the French top-flight once again this season and they have suffered just one defeat all season in Ligue 1 but they have majorly underwhelmed in recent weeks and are finishing the season with a bit of a whimper, combined with the official announcement of Kylian Mbappe’s departure this summer.

Luis Enrique’s PSG have spent the last few weeks focusing on UEFA Champions League semi-final football with a 1-0 loss to Borussia Dortmund at Signal Iduna Park in the first-leg and then the second-leg finished 1-0 with a 2-0 aggregate defeat. That means they have now managed three victories in their last eight matches across all competitions.

TOULOUSE

Following their Coupe de France triumph last season, in their first season back in the top-flight, Toulouse endured a difficult start to the campaign with a small squad trying to compete both domestically and in the UEFA Europa League. Since their elimination from European competition, though, they have steadied themselves in mid-table.

Toulouse come into this one on the back of a frustrating 2-1 defeat at home to Montpellier Herault at Stadium de Toulouse last weekend. Teji Savanier opened the scoring for Montpellier in the 27th minute before Thijs Dallinga equalised a few minutes later. Khalil Fayad gave Montpellier a late winner amidst red cards for Rasmus Nicolaisen and the aforementioned Savanier.

THE TEAM NEWS

PSG

Paris Saint-Germain have a few availability issues for this weekend’s visit of Toulouse as defenders Presnel Kimpembe, Layvin Kurzawa and Lucas Hernandez are unavailable.

PREDICTED XI (4-2-3-1): Donnarumma; Hakimi, Marquinhos, Pereira, Beraldo; Vitinha, Zaire-Emery; Kolo Muani, Asensio, Mbappe; Ramos

TOULOUSE

There is only one availability concern for this weekend’s trip to the capital as defender Rasmus Nicolaisen remains suspended for Toulouse.

PREDICTED XI (4-3-3): Restes; Desler, Costa, Keben, Diarra; Schmidt, Casseres Jr, Sierro; Aboukhlal, Dallinga, Gboho

UNAVAILABLE: Nicolaisen (Suspended)

THE PREDICTION

For much of the last couple of months, Luis Enrique has focused and prioritised UEFA Champions League football and also been keen to leave Kylian Mbappe out of the side with the Parisiens trying to adapt to life without the France captain. Toulouse will therefore go to the Parc des Princes and will be confident of at least scoring against a likely lacklustre and unmotivated PSG side. PSG are always favourites but it might be quite entertaining for the neutral.

TIP: PSG TO WIN & OVER 2.5 GOALS
