MONACO PREVIEW: THE ENTERTAINERS OF LIGUE 1

Under the management of former Borussia Monchengladbach boss Adi Hutter, Monaco begin this final weekend of the 2023/24 Ligue 1 season sitting tucked inside the top three and the UEFA Champions League spots, six points clear of fourth and able to completely relaxed on the final day of the campaign.

The Monagasque have been entertaining to watch throughout the campaign with their 33 matches so far this season consisting of 106 goals. They are finishing the season well, too, with a comfortable 2-0 defeat of Montpellier Herault in their most recent outing last weekend meaning they have won six of their last seven matches.

NANTES PREVIEW: AT EASE

Armand Kombouare returned to Nantes during the March international break after the sacking of Jocelyn Gourvennac, who had replaced the sacked Pierre Aristouy earlier in the campaign. His return promoted an almost immediate improvement in performances and results as they steer themselves away from the bottom three and the danger zone.

They are safe, sitting four points clear of Metz in the relegation playoff place, despite a recent dip in form in the last few weeks as they head into the final day on the back of a four-match winless run of form. That run of form began with a 3-0 loss at home to Rennes before back-to-back draws against Montpellier and Brest was extended with a 2-1 loss at home to Lille.

MONACO VS NANTES PREDICTION

Monaco have been thrilling to watch with their very German style of intense pressing football that has been instilled by Adi Hutter. This generation of Monaco is not quite one that will be picked apart in the summer either so they will hope this is the beginning. Nantes can play with freedom after the hard work has been put in since the international break so Monaco are favourites, especially at Stade Louis II, for what could be quite a fun game for the neutral.
