THE PREDICTION
The wheels have come off somewhat in the Rennes camp as, prior to the Christmas break, Bruno Genesio’s side had lost three of their last four league games which saw them lose their grip on second place in the Ligue 1 table. Their return to action saw them disappointingly lose to second-tier outfit Nancy in the Coupe de France last weekend so things need to improve if they are to maintain their strong position in the table. They could have some joy here though, as Lens are currently winless in their last six league games and if they fail to pick up a victory here, it would spell their longest winless run in the top division since 2015. They did show some positive signs in their cup win over Lille recently though, so this one is a difficult one to call. When all is said and done, a share of the spoils could well be the outcome.
