THE LOWDOWN

WEST HAM

West Ham have been excellent this season with their only defeats in any competition having come against Man City and Liverpool, while their most recent Premier League encounter was the routine 2-0 victory over Sheffield Utd last weekend.

The Hammers followed that up with a 1-2 win at Freiburg in the Europa League on Thursday, which made it two wins from two in their group.

NEWCASTLE

Newcastle are flying on all fronts right now with their three-game losing run in late August and early September now seeming like a distant memory.

The Magpies have won their last three Premier League games without conceding a single goal, while Wednesday night was was surely one of the most memorable occasions in the history of the club when Eddie Howe's side put PSG to the sword in the Champions League.

THE TEAM NEWS

WEST HAM

Antonio has not trained at the time of writing and is a major doubt for this fixture, but David Moyes does have plenty of options should he need to make a change up front. Danny Ings and Mohammed Kudus are options as the central striker, while Jarrod Bowen could also be used there.

Full-backs Ben Johnson and Aaron Cresswell are the only other injury concerns at present.

PREDICTED XI (4-2-3-1): Areola; Coufal, Zouma, Aguerd, Emerson; Soucek, Alvarez; Bowen, Ward-Prowse, Paqueta; Ings

UNAVAILABLE:

QUESTIONABLE: Johnson (Injured), Cresswell (Injured), Antonio (Injured)

NEWCASTLE

Sven Botman will not be ready for a return until after the international break, while Anthony Gordon is suspended for this one after picking up five yellow cards.

Joelinton and Callum Wilson have a chance of inclusion though, while Emil Krafth has been building up his fitness lately and could feature in the squad.

PREDICTED XI (4-3-3): Pope, Trippier, Lascelles, Schar, Burn; Longstaff, Guimaraes, Tonali; Almiron, Isak, Murphy

UNAVAILABLE: Botman (Injured), Willock (Injured), Barnes (Injured), Gordon (Suspended)

QUESTIONABLE: Krafth (Fitness), Joelinton (Injured), Wilson (Injured)

THE PREDICTION

You could make an argument for both teams here given the performances they have been putting in of late, with Newcastle in particular enjoying a particularly rich vein of form. However, there is the potential for a drop in intensity from the visitors here, given the energy they exerted in the excellent win over PSG midweek. Given the level West Ham have been performing at recently, any drop-off from the Magpies could be fatal, so draw not bet on the hosts is definitely worth a look.

TIP: WEST HAM DRAW NO BET
