NOTTINGHAM FOREST
Up against his former club, Nuno Espirito Santo will always be under pressure at Nottingham Forest until they have secured Premier League status for next season. Forest have shown some major signs of well-timed and much-needed improvement of late as a three-match unbeaten run of form lifted them out of the bottom three and the relegation places, following a points deduction.
However, Nottingham Forest did suffer a 3-1 loss at Tottenham Hotspur in their most recent outing, last weekend, with second-half goals from defenders Micky van de Ven and Pedro Porro earning three points for Spurs. That means Forest now begin the weekend sitting just outside of the bottom three on goal difference.
WOLVES
Gary O’Neil spent the majority of last week’s post-match interviews after a 2-1 loss at home to West Ham United, once again, whinging about refereeing and the decision-making of the Video Assistant Referee. Wolves had a late goal correctly disallowed but O’Neil insisted the decision was wrong, despite that not being the case.
Wolves have now managed just one victory in their last six matches across all competitions, which includes losing 3-2 at home to Championship side Coventry City in the quarter-finals of the FA Cup. They do remain in the hunt for a potential top seven or eight finish and possible European qualification in the Premier League table.

NOTTINGHAM FOREST
Nuno Espirito Santo has confirmed that Taiwo Awoniyi has resumed training on his own and there is a hope that the Nigeria international will be able to play again for Forest this season.
The manager provided no update on midfielder Morgan Gibbs-White, who was substituted against Spurs last week and then seen with an ice pack, whilst Willy Boly remains unavailable.

THE PREDICTION
It is the Nuno Espirito Santo derby between two clubs that have consistently whinged throughout the season about the standard of officiating, veering into conspiracy theories of corruption. Well, if both of them are correct then we’ll get an even contest at the City Ground this weekend. In what is something of a derby, too, we should have a good atmosphere at Forest but the likelihood is the two defences come out on top between two more reactive coaches.
