THE LOWDOWN

NOTTINGHAM FOREST

It's just one win in the last eight games for Nottingham Forest, who went into the international break on a sour note after letting a lead slip against West Ham, but their home form at least has been solid.

Steve Cooper's men are unbeaten at the City Ground in the Premier League this season, and it is a run which stretches to eight games when you factor in the end of the 2022-23 campaign.

BRIGHTON

The international break probably came at a good time for Brighton as they were struggling for results in the Premier League, with Roberto De Zerbi's men now winless in their last six games in the division.

De Zerbi will have been particularly frustrated by his side's inability to see off promoted side Sheffield Utd last time out, with Mahmoud Dahoud's second-half red card giving the Blades the impetus to rescue a point.

THE TEAM NEWS

NOTTINGHAM FOREST

Forest have suffered a huge setback with the news that top scorer Taiwo Awoniyi will be out for months after undergoing groin surgery, so Chris Wood or Divock Origi will be needed far more regularly for the time being.

Murillo and Danilo are doubtful after suffering setbacks in the clash with West Ham before the international break, but Anthony Elanga is training and has a stronger chance of inclusion.

PREDICTED XI (4-3-3): Vlachodimos; Aina, Niakhate, Boly, Toffolo; Sangare, Mangala, Domiguez; Gibbs-White, Wood, Elanga

UNAVAILABLE: Hudson-Odoi (Injured), Awoniyi (Injured)

QUESTIONABLE: Murillo (Injured), Danilo (Injured), Montiel (Injured), Felipe (Injured), Elanga (Injured)

BRIGHTON

Kaoru Mitoma has been ruled out of this one while Mahmoud Dahoud is suspended and Igor Julio and Evan Ferguson are doubts, among other absentees.

There is at least some positive news as Lewis Dunk is available again and Tariq Lamptey has made good progress and could start.

PREDICTED XI (4-3-3): Steele; Lamptey, Dunk, Van Hecke, Gross; Lallana, Gilmour, Baleba; Buonanotte, Fati, Adingra

UNAVAILABLE: Estupinan (Injured), Milner (Injured), Dahoud (Suspended), Enciso (Injured), March (Injured), Mitoma (Injured), Welbeck (Injured)

QUESTIONABLE: Julio (Injured), Lamptey (Fitness), Ferguson (Injured)

THE PREDICTION

After some patchy form to say the least before the international break, both Nottingham Forest and Brighton could really do with three points here to try and kick-start some momentum heading into the busy festive period. One thing you can usually guarantee with any match featuring the Seagulls is goals. Both teams have scored in all 12 of their Premier League games this season, and there is no reason to believe this will be any different.

BETTING TIP: BOTH TEAMS TO SCORE
