THE LOWDOWN

NOTTINGHAM FOREST

Nottingham Forest, who were not in action midweek having already been eliminated from the Carabao Cup, come into this off the back of a 2-0 defeat to reigning Premier League champions Man City last weekend - a fixture they were not realistically expecting to get anything from.

Steve Cooper's men can hold their head up high following that loss at the Etihad though, as it had the potential to be a heavy defeat when they were 2-0 down inside a quarter of an hour. However, the visitors stood firm and did not allow City to extend the score.

BRENTFORD

Following their defeat to Arsenal in the Carabao Cup on Wednesday, Brentford are now winless in their last four games in all competitions, and the 0-3 win at Fulham in August remains their only Premier League victory of the season.

It is certainly too early for any sort of panic to set in, but the manner of their 1-3 defeat to Everton last week - a team that were previously winless - will have concerned Bees boss Thomas Frank and he will be urging his men to respond here.

THE TEAM NEWS

NOTTINGHAM FOREST

Nuno Tavares was brought off early against Man City last week and seems very likely to miss out here, while Felipe has suffered a setback and could also be absent from Sunday's squad. Danilo, meanwhile, is definitely sidelined for this fixture.

Steve Cooper deployed an ultra-defensive setup against City but is likely to go for a more attacking approach, with the likes of Callum Hudson-Odoi and Antony Elanga candidates to come back into the starting XI.

PREDICTED XI (3-4-2-1): Turner; Worrall, Boly, Niakhate; Montiel, Mangala, Yates, Hudson-Odoi; Elanga, Gibbs-White; Awoniyi

UNAVAILABLE: Danilo (Injured)

QUESTIONABLE: Nuno Tavares (Injured), Felipe (Injured)

BRENTFORD

Kevin Schade pulled up injured in the warm-up for the Everton game last week and he has since had to undergo surgery, while Mikkel Damsgaard has also been ruled out and will see a specialist regarding his troublesome knee injury.

Ben Mee is still out, while Thomas Frank will consider one or two other changes in response to recent performances.

PREDICTED XI (4-3-3): Flekken; Ajer, Collins, Pinnock, Hickey; Norgaard, Jensen, Janelt; Mbeumo, Wissa, Lewis-Potter

UNAVAILABLE: Mee (Injured), Henry (Injured), Damsgaard (Injured), Dasilva (Injured), Baptiste (Injured), Schade (Injured), Toney (Suspended)

QUESTIONABLE:

THE PREDICTION

Brentford have hit a bit of a rocky patch of late and Thomas Frank will be viewing this fixture as a good opportunity to bounce back, but Nottingham Forest will naturally have other ideas. The hosts have kept things tight in recent games, even managing to nullify Man City for large portions of last week's fixture, so they could have some joy here in frustrating the Bees. With this in mind, backing there to be under 2.5 goals could pay dividends.

TIP: UNDER 2.5 GOALS
