THE LOWDOWN

NEWCASTLE

  • Newcastle extended their wining run in the Premier League to six games with a comprehensive 0-3 victory at Leicester, as Miguel Almiron’s hot streak in front of goal continued.
  • Callum Wilson has been spotted in training prior to the visit of Leeds so the England striker could well come back into the starting line-up after illness kept him out against the Foxes.

LEEDS UTD

  • Leeds battled against Man City last time out but were ultimately undone by the better side and their fixture run doesn’t get much better here as they face the form team in the Premier League.
  • Jesse Marsch must do without Patrick Bamford once again but he does at least have Tyler Adams back from suspension, with the American set to slide straight into central midfield.

THE PREDICTION

The World Cup break seemed to do little to dull Newcastle’s confidence with Eddie Howe’s men dismantling Leicester on Boxing Day. There is no reason to think it won’t be the same outcome here, with Leeds struggling to contain opponents in recent Premier League outings. They have conceded ten goals in their last three league games, but they have at least found the net themselves in their last five. Both teams to score is a potential market to consider, but over 2.5 goals also looks tempting to back.

TIP: OVER 2.5 GOALS
