THE LOWDOWN

EVERTON

Everton finally picked up their first point of the campaign with their fixture with Sheffield Utd a couple of weeks ago ending in a 2-2 draw, but there is still plenty of work for Sean Dyche to do in order to whip them up into survival shape.

Abdoulaye Doucoure - the hero of last season's successful survival - opened the scoring for the Toffees, only for Cameron Archer to equalise for the Blades before an unfortunate Jordan Pickford put the ball into his own net just before the break. Arnaut Danjuma, however, scored for a second game in succession to draw the game level, and that's how it ended at Bramall Lane.

ARSENAL

A dramatic late win over Man Utd before the international break is bound to have given the Gunners an injection of belief, with Mikel Arteta's men unbeaten after the first four Premier League games.

Arsenal went behind midway through the first half to a fine Marcus Rashford strike, but Martin Odegaard drew the Gunners level just a minute later. 1-1 it remained until the final stages of the game, when summer signing Declan Rice scored his first Arsenal goal, before Gabriel Jesus added gloss to the result at the death.

THE TEAM NEWS

EVERTON

James Tarkowski and Jarrad Branthwaite are carrying minor knocks but it is unlikely to be anything that prevents their participation in this fixture, while Jack Harrison is not yet ready to make the squad despite a return to training.

Dominic Calvert-Lewin has been passed fit by Sean Dyche but it remains to be seen whether the injury-prone striker takes his place in the starting line-up.

PREDICTED XI (4-1-4-1): Pickford; Patterson, Tarkowski, Branthwaite, Young; Gueye; Garner, Doucoure, Onana, Danjuma; Calvert-Lewin

UNAVAILABLE: Coleman (Injured), Harrison (Fitness), Dele (Injured)

QUESTIONABLE: Tarkowski (Injured), Branthwaite (Injured), Keane (Injured), Chermiti (Injured), Gomes (Injured)

ARSENAL

Despite initial fears, Arteta has stated that Bukayo Saka is fine and ready to play, meaning it could well be an unchanged starting line-up from that which defeated Man Utd prior to the international break, although fit-again Gabriel Jesus could be preferred to Eddie Nketiah in attack.

Thomas Partey remains out, so Kai Havertz could continue in midfield despite failing to impress so far in his Arsenal career, with Jorginho representing another option.

PREDICTED XI (4-3-3): Ramsdale; White, Saliba, Gabriel, Zinchenko; Odegaard, Rice, Havertz; Saka, Jesus, Martinelli

UNAVAILABLE: Timber (Injured), Partey (Injured), Elneny (Injured)

QUESTIONABLE:

THE PREDICTION

The manner of their dramatic victory over Man Utd before the international break will still be fresh on the minds of the Arsenal players, and Arteta will be urging his men to kick on now and stay in touch with Premier League leaders Man City in the table. Everton, who sit on just one point after four games, have struggled to find the net with just two goals scored to date, so a win to nil for the visitors is worth considering.

TIP: ARSENAL TO WIN TO NIL
