THE LOWDOWN

CRYSTAL PALACE

Crystal Palace battled to a draw at Brentford last weekend and followed that up with a come-from-behind victory against Plymouth Argyle in the League Cup on Tuesday.

In the clash with Brentford, the Eagles went behind to a fine Kevin Schade strike after 18 minutes, and it wasn't until the 76th minute that they restored parity when Joachim Andersen managed to bundle the ball past Bees keeper Mark Flekken.

WOLVES

Wolves secured their first win of the campaign against Everton last weekend, and followed that up with a resounding 5-0 victory over Blackpool in Tuesday's League Cup encounter.

Gary O'Neil's men left it late against Everton, with forgotten man Sasa Kalajdzic heading home in the dying minutes, but Wolves largely had Jose Sa to thank for some superb saves to keep the Toffees scoreless beforehand.

THE TEAM NEWS

CRYSTAL PALACE

Despite Dean Henderson joining the club, Roy Hodgson has stated that Sam Johnstone will start this one, although how long he remains the Palace number one remains to be seen.

There are no other new injuries to report, so Hodgson may opt to go for an unchanged line-up from the draw at Brentford. However, Jean-Philippe Mateta's midweek hat-trick may give the manager food for thought when it comes to his preferred striker.

PREDICTED XI (4-2-3-1): Johnstone; Ward, Andersen, Guehi, Mitchell; Doucoure, Lerma; Ayew, Eze, Schlupp; Edouard

UNAVAILABLE: Ferguson (Fitness), Ebiowei (Fitness), Olise (Injured), Franca (Injured)

QUESTIONABLE: Hughes (Injured)

WOLVES

A midweek brace from Matt Doherty gives Gary O'Neil something to think about when it comes to team selection, but Mathais Nunes will not be available with the midfielder having completing a move to Man City.

Joe Hodge has been ruled out after picking up an injury in the League Cup, while Hwang Hee-chan is a doubt with a hamstring complaint.

PREDICTED XI (4-4-1-1): Sa; Semedo, Dawson, Kilman, Bueno; Neto, Gomes, Lemina, Sarabia; Cunha, Silva

UNAVAILABLE: Hodge (Injured)

QUESTIONABLE: Hwang (Injured)

THE PREDICTION

Gary O'Neil will be feeling a lot more comfortable now having got his first win under his belt as Wolves boss, and there is an argument to be made that they can back that up here. However, Crystal Palace are an extremely well-drilled side under Roy Hodgson and are incredibly difficult to break down. Despite both teams scoring for fun in the League Cup midweek, this game is likely to be low on chances as both teams cancel each other out. Under 2.5 goals is the prediction.

TIP: UNDER 2.5 GOALS
