THE TEAM NEWS

CHELSEA

The big team news for Mauricio Pochettino’s Chelsea this weekend is the fact that Senegalese international striker Nicolas Jackson has returned from the Africa Cup of Nations and could even start against Wolverhampton Wanderers.

Christopher Nkunku played 45 minutes against Liverpool in midweek and faces a late assessment to see whether he could be available to play the whole game this weekend. Levi Colwill is not entirely ruled out but is unlikely to feature and the same goes for Trevoh Chalobah.

PREDICTED XI (4-2-3-1): Petrovic; Gusto, Disasi, Silva, Chilwell; Fernandez, Caicedo; Palmer, Gallagher, Sterling; Jackson

UNAVAILABLE: Sanchez (Injured), Fofana (Injured), James (Injured), Cucurella (Injured), Lavia (Injured), Ugochukwu (Injured)

QUESTIONABLE: Colwill (Injured), Chalobah (Injured)

WOLVES

There are reportedly no fresh injury concerns or suspension issues for Gary O’Neil to deal with this weekend as his Wolverhampton Wanderers side travel down to the capital city to face Chelsea at Stamford Bridge on Sunday afternoon.

He does, though, still have to contend with two key absentees as key forward Hwang Hee-chan remains at the AFC Asian Cup with South Korea, whilst Boubacar Traore is playing for Mali at the Africa Cup of Nations.

PREDICTED XI (3-4-2-1): Sa; Kilman, Dawson, Toti; Semedo, Doyle, Lemina, Ait-Nouri; Neto, Sarabia; Cunha

UNAVAILABLE: Traore (International duty), Hwang (International duty)

THE PREDICTION

Despite some improved results over the New Year with three successive Premier League victories and a 6-1 annihilation of Middlesbrough in the second-leg of their EFL Cup semi-final tie, Chelsea had appeared to turn a corner but their 4-1 hammering at the hands of Liverpool in midweek showed up their major issues. They face a Wolverhampton Wanderers side that, despite even playing poorly by their own standards in midweek, very nearly snatched a point against Manchester United in midweek. Wolves will expect to create chances at Stamford Bridge and both teams scoring does look a good bet.

TIP: BOTH TEAMS TO SCORE
