THE LOWDOWN
CHELSEA
- A disjointed Chelsea display resulted in a disappointing 2-1 defeat to Southampton on Tuesday with boss Thomas Tuchel heavily critical of his side’s mentality in the wake of that defeat.
- Whilst one new signing in Wes Fofana could be afforded his first start for the Blues in central defence, another in striker Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang will have to wait until he is fitted with a mask to shield his broken jaw before he can play.
WEST HAM
- West Ham battled to a 1-1 draw with London rivals Tottenham on Wednesday evening, but David Moyes was slightly disappointed that his side didn’t come away with more as they had a number of opportunities to clinch the three points late in the game.
- New signing Lucas Paqueta – who made a substitute appearance against Spurs – is likely to start on the bench once again as David Moyes eases him into the team, while late decisions will be made on Aaron Cresswell and Gianluca Scamacca.

THE PREDICTION
A second London derby in a row sees West Ham make the trip across London to Stamford Bridge, where they will feel they will have every chance of a positive result given Chelsea’s struggles of late. The hosts certainly haven’t been helped by injuries and suspensions recently though, and with some notable reinforcements having come through the door in the transfer window, improvement will be expected. One player who hasn’t struggled is Raheem Sterling, who has been on the scoresheet three times in the last two games. He has form for going on scoring streaks, so backing the summer signing to continue his form could be a worthwhile investment here.
TIP: RAHEEM STERLING TO SCORE ANYTIME
