THE LOWDOWN

BURNLEY

Monday evening saw Burnley register their first point of the campaign when they played out a 1-1 draw with Nottingham Forest, and Vincent Kompany will be urging his men to kick on now and move up the table.

The Clarets played well for large spells of the clash with Forest and took the lead through Zeki Amdouni late in the first half, and they managed to keep Forest at bay until Callum Hudson-Odoi's wonder strike just after the hour mark. A point was probably a fair reflection of the match in the end, but it ended on a sour note for the visitors when striker Lyle Foster was sent off for a needled elbow late on.

MAN UTD

Erik ten Hag's men were hugely disappointing last weekend when they lost 1-3 at home to Brighton, and the first evidence of supporter discontent with the manager was noticeable with sporadic boos heard at various points during the defeat.

The Red Devils followed that with a high-scoring defeat to Bayern Munich in the Champions League on Wednesday, which made it four defeats in the last five games across all competitions.

THE TEAM NEWS

BURNLEY

A reshuffle is needed in attack as Lyle Foster now begins a three-match suspension following his late red card against Nottingham Forest. Mohamed Amdouni seems best placed to occupy the central striker role, leaving a space for Sander Berge to come back into the side.

Jordan Beyer hobbled off last weekend, but it is thought that cramp was the reason so he should fine to take his place in central defence.

PREDICTED XI (4-2-3-1): Trafford; Roberts, Al Dakhil, Beyer, Taylor; Cullen, Brownhill; Gudmundsson, Berge, Zaroury; Amdouni

UNAVAILABLE: Ekdal (Injured), Obafemi (Injured), Churlinov (Injured), Foster (Suspended)

QUESTIONABLE: Beyer (Injured)

MAN UTD

Raphael Varane, Sofyan Amrabat and Mason Mount have all trained and the trio could make the squad, with Varane in particular likely to start if deemed fit enough. Harry Maguire is another who could travel after missing out midweek, but Aaron Wan-Bissaka has joined the lengthy list of injury absentees.

Jadon Sancho and Antony are not being considered for the squad right now.

PREDICTED XI (4-2-3-1): Onana; Dalot, Varane, Martinez, Reguilon; Casemiro, Eriksen; Garnacho, Fernandes, Rashford; Hojlund

UNAVAILABLE: Malacia (Injured), Shaw (Injured), Wan-Bissaka (Injured), Mainoo (Injured), Diallo (Injured), Sancho (Disciplinary), Antony (Personal reasons)

QUESTIONABLE: Maguire (Injured), Varane (Injured), Amrabat (Injured), Mount (Injured)

THE PREDICTION

This almost feels like 'must-win' territory for Man Utd given their lacklustre start to the campaign, particularly as the first whisperings of frustration with Erik ten Hag's management reared their head last week. Fortunately for them, they face one of the weaker teams in the division here, and although Vincent Kompany will set his Burnley side up to frustrate Man Utd, the visitors should have enough quality to break through.

TIP: MAN UTD TO WIN
