• The postponement of Burnley’s clash away at Aston Villa last Saturday just two before the scheduled kickoff time means that the Clarets have not been in Premier League action since all the back on December 12th when they drew 0-0 at home to West Ham.
• Influential attacker Maxwel Cornet faces a late fitness test, which will determine whether he will feature in this one, but both Connor Roberts and Ashley Barnes remain absent or Burnley.

EVERTON

• Everton boss Rafael Benitez has voiced his displeasure at the Premier League rejecting the Toffees’ request to postpone this fixture, with his side stricken with both injuries and Covid-19 infections.
• Six Everton players are out injured, whilst five have tested positive for Covid-19 although Benitez has remained tight lipped on who those players are, however the one silver-lining for him is that star striker Dominic Calvert-Lewin is finally back fit and now available for selection.

THE PREDICTION

Everton have been heavy hit in both the injury and illness department ahead of their trip to Turf Moor, which is expected to be a serious battle against a Burnley side fighting for their lives in the relegation battle. The hosts had started to show an upturn in fortunes defensively before their recent postponements, having kept clean sheets in two of their last three league games and will prove very difficult to break down for the visitors. Combine that with Burnley’s aerial threat from set pieces in particular and they will be more than confident of utilising both their physically and battle-hardened experience to bully what is likely to be a youthful Everton side into submission. With home advantage also being in their favour, backing Burnley to edge this one looks to be the smart play.
