THE LOWDOWN

BURNLEY

Burnley's return to the top-flight has not unfolded as they had hoped, finding themselves second from bottom with only one win this season. There is plenty of hope though, as they are just three points away from escaping the relegation zone.

Vincent Kompany was left with a bitter feeling following a controversial decision to disallow Jay Rodriguez's late equaliser for offside against Bournemouth last weekend. Their midweek Carabao Cup fixture saw a rested squad suffer a 3-0 defeat at Everton.

CRYSTAL PALACE

Crystal Palace endured a challenging October in the Premier League, failing to win in three outings. Their last match, a 2-1 home loss against league leaders Spurs, saw the Eagles dominate large proportions of the match, but unable to break a durable defence until it was too late.

Roy Hodgson has witnessed his team slide to 13th in the league table, albeit still maintaining a seven-point cushion above the relegation zone.

THE TEAM NEWS

BURNLEY

Burnley will be without Josh Cullen, who is suspended with an accumulation of yellow cards. Kompany will also be missing Michael Obafemi and Lyle Foster, both of whom are ruled out through injury. There are doubts concerning the availability of Jordan Beyer, who is nursing a knock alongside Hjalmar Ekdal, both of whom are questionable for the fixture.

The Clarets will receive a boost with the return of Connor Roberts returning from a one-match suspension.

PREDICTED XI (4-3-3): Trafford; Roberts, Al-Dakhil, O’Shea, Taylor; Brownhill, Berge, Gudmundsson; Tresor, Amdouni, Koleosho

UNAVAILABLE: Cullen (Suspended), Obafemi (Injured), Foster (Injured)

QUESTIONABLE: Beyer (Fitness), Ekdal (Fitness)

CRYSTAL PALACE

The Eagles are without Dean Henderson, James Tomkins, and Nathan Ferguson, all of whom have been confirmed as unavailable for the match due to their respective injuries. On a more positive note, Tyrick Mitchell is expected to make a return to the line-up after being substituted with a strain in the previous match against Tottenham Hotspur, and Eberechi Eze should make the squad.

PREDICTED XI (4-2-3-1): Johnstone; Ward, Andersen, Guehi, Mitchell; Hughes, Doucoure, Lerma; Ayew, Edouard, Franca

UNAVAILABLE: Olise (Injured), Henderson (Injured), Tomkins (Injured), Ferguson (Injured)

THE PREDICTION

Burnley cannot afford to squander too many more points if they hope to escape the bottom three. Conversely, Crystal Palace are also motivated to turn their fortunes around after enduring back-to-back losses. Facing a defensively vulnerable Burnley side at Turf Moor is perceived as an ideal opportunity for them to claim maximum points and regain their winning form.

BETTING TIP: CRYSTAL PALACE TO WIN
