THE LOWDOWN

BRENTFORD

  • Brentford have won just one of their last five Premier League games following their midweek defeat to Man Utd but Thomas Frank’s side remain in the top half of the table.
  • Vitaly Janelt has resumed training for the Bees and could feature in the squad, while Ivan Toney is walking a suspension tightrope as he is one yellow card away from a two-match ban.

NEWCASTLE

  • Newcastle’s European charge is well and truly back on track with four straight wins seeing the Magpies well-positioned in third place in the Premier League table.
  • Emil Krafth and Miguel Almiron are the only Magpies warming the treatment room at the moment while Eddie Howe has a selection dilemma up front with Callum Wilson and Alexander Isak both in fine goalscoring form.

THE PREDICTION

Newcastle were suffering something of a wobble around a month ago but they are looking in fine form right now as they chase down a Champions League spot. Brentford, though, represent stern opposition at home where they are unbeaten in their last ten Premier League games. The Bees have found the net in nine of those so they will be confident of doing so again here, and with Newcastle finding the net with regularity having hit West Ham for five midweek, both teams can be expected to get on the scoresheet.

TIP: BOTH TEAMS TO SCORE – YES
