BOURNEMOUTH PREVIEW: EVOLVING CHERRIES

Andoni Iraola is beginning his second season in charge of AFC Bournemouth after being nominated for the Manager of the Season award in his first with the Cherries. They have lost Dominic Solanke to Tottenham Hotspur over the summer but broken their club record transfer fee to replace him with FC Porto forward Evanilson.

Their opening day of the season was overshadowed by a horrific injury suffered by Nottingham Forest midfielder Danilo. It eventually finished all-square with New Zealand international striker Chris Wood giving Forest the lead in the first-half before Antoine Semenyo equalised in second-half stoppage-time.

NEWCASTLE PREVIEW: MAGPIES FLAPPING ABOUT LATE ON

It has been a frustrating summer transfer window for Newcastle United as the club try and navigate their way through the Profit and Sustainability Rules that have restricted or confused many clubs but there is talk they are now edging closer to the signing of Crystal Palace defender Marc Guehi.

BOURNEMOUTH TEAM NEWS: POTENTIAL EVANILSON DEBUT

Andoni Iraola has said that the only issues are Tyler Adams, David Brooks and Enes Unal for Bournemouth so that would suggest defender Marcos Senesi is expected to return for this one.

There could be a debut given to Brazil international and club record signing Evanilson but Antoine Semenyo, who scored last week, would expect to be rewarded by starting at home.

PREDICTED XI (4-2-3-1): Neto; Smith, Zabarnyi, Huijsen, Kerkez; Scott, Cook; Ouattara, Tavernier, Luis Sinisterra; Semenyo

UNAVAILABLE: Adams (Injured), Brooks (Injured), Unal (Injured)

NEWCASTLE TEAM NEWS: NO NEW ISSUES

Upon his return to the south coast, Eddie Howe confirmed in his pre-match press conference that there were no new injury concerns for Newcastle and that they are 'pretty much as we were'.

There are a couple of issues, though, with Switzerland defender Fabian Schar now beginning a three-match suspension, whilst there is talk that Kieran Trippier could be departing the club in the next week.

PREDICTED XI (4-3-3): Pope; Livramento, Kelly, Burn, Hall; Longstaff, Bruno Guimaraes, Joelinton; Murphy, Isak, Gordon

UNAVAILABLE: Botman (Injured), Lascelles (Injured), Schar (Suspended), Miley (Injured), Tonali (Suspended), Wilson (Injured)

BOURNEMOUTH VS NEWCASTLE PREDICTION

AFC Bournemouth and Andoni Iraola play with an entertaining intensity and pressing to their style of football. At the Vitality Stadium, Bournemouth are expected to get straight at their opposition but Newcastle United, with Eddie Howe returning to his former club, are resilient enough to deal with it. Both sides have cohesive patterns of play and ways of scoring a goal so both teams scoring looks a good bet for this one.
