THE LOWDOWN

ARSENAL

Arsenal dropped their first points of the campaign last weekend when ten-man Fulham snatched a late equaliser in a topsy-turvy encounter at the Emirates Stadium.

It was the worst possible start for the Gunners when Andreas Pereira put the visitors in front inside the first 60 seconds, and it wasn't until midway through the second half that Arsenal equalised with Bukayo Saka dispatching a penalty after Fabio Vieira was felled. Mikel Arteta's men were then in front just two minutes later when substitute Eddie Nketiah found the net, but Joao Palhinha's late strike restored parity for a Fulham side who had seen Calvin Bassey given his marching orders not long before.

MAN UTD

Man Utd had to do it the hard way last week against Nottingham Forest but showed plenty of fight and desire to turn the game in their favour, in what was a much-needed response to the defeat to Tottenham a week prior.

It was a nightmare start for the Red Devils with Taiwo Awoniyi and Willy Boly putting Forest two goals to the good while fans were still taking their seats at Old Trafford. However, the famous stadium has witnessed plenty of comebacks in the past and their riposte began when Christian Eriksen diverted Marcus Rashford's cross pass Matt Turner. The hosts continued to apply pressure and got their reward when Casesmiro equalised, before Bruno Fernandes coolly converted a penalty to complete the comeback.

THE TEAM NEWS

ARSENAL

With the Gunners having conceded twice at Fulham last weekend, this could finally be the match where Arteta reverts to the back four that played the majority of last season, meaning Gabriel partnering William Saliba in central defence and Oleksandr Zinchenko on the left. Takehiro Tomiyasu is another option though, after completing his suspension.

That reshuffle would likely mean that Thomas Partey returns to midfield in place of the ineffective Kai Havertz, while Gabriel Jesus could make his first start of the campaign.

PREDICTED XI (4-3-3): Ramsdale; White, Saliba, Gabriel, Zinchenko; Odegaard, Rice, Partey; Saka, Jesus, Martinelli

UNAVAILABLE: Timber (Injured), Elneny (Injured)

QUESTIONABLE: Lokonga (Injured)

MAN UTD

Raphael Varane is out with an injury sustained last week against Nottingham Forest, so Victor Lindelof is likely to partner Lisandro Martinez in central defence. Sergio Reguilon has completed his loan move from Tottenham and, having trained, is an option at left-back.

Summer signing Rasmus Hojlund is finally fit and available after a full week of training and could be thrust straight into the starting line-up.

PREDICTED XI (4-2-3-1): Onana; Wan-Bissaka, Lindelof, Martinez, Dalot; Casemiro, Eriksen; Antony, Fernandes, Rashford; Hojlund

UNAVAILABLE: Heaton (Injured), Varane (Injured), Malacia (Injured), Shaw (Injured), Mainoo (Injured), Mount (Injured), Diallo (Injured)

THE PREDICTION

The match of the weekend sees old rivals Arsenal and Man Utd do battle at the Emirates Stadium. Neither have been particularly convincing at the back so far and it's possible that could lead to an excellent spectacle for the neutral here. The last four meetings between the two heavyweights have each seen at least four goals scored, and this could be no different with over 3.5 goals looking like a tempting market.

TIP: OVER 3.5 GOALS
