ARSENAL PREVIEW: GUNNERS GUNNING FOR HISTORY

Mikel Arteta’s Arsenal have officially taken the title race to the final day of the season for the first time in the former Everton midfielder’s era as coach. The Gunners were quite nervy last weekend at Old Trafford but managed to grind out a victory against Manchester United thanks to an early Leandro Trossard strike.

‘1-0 to the Arsenal’ is how the famous chant once went and it was brought back out last week and that was a sign of the maturity of this Arsenal team in contrast to the way they capitulated in April last year. That victory up in Manchester means Arsenal head into the final day of the campaign with a chance of winning the title for the first time in 20 years.

EVERTON PREVIEW: TOFFEES LOOK TO SPRING SWEET SURPRISE

Sean Dyche has done an excellent job at Everton this season. Their off-field issues continue to persist and there is still a chance that they enter administration but the Toffees have comfortably survived the drop, despite a six-point deduction in the Premier League and the fact they very nearly went four months without a league win.

The Merseysiders have rescued their season in the last month and a half or so with some big results and performances at Goodison Park. Abdoulaye Doucoure scored the only goal of the game as they defeated Sheffield United by a goal to nil last weekend to mean they have won five successive home games.

ARSENAL TEAM NEWS: NO REAL ISSUES FOR THE GUNNERS

In his final pre-match press conference of the season, Arsenal boss Mikel Arteta was not asked any questions on team news. We do have a couple of issues that are known about, though.

One of those being key man Bukayo Saka, who once again limped off last weekend but the Arsenal boss has said he 'should be fine'. Jurrien Timber could be involved but the stakes of the game make it unlikely.

PREDICTED XI (4-3-3): David Raya; White, Saliba, Gabriel, Zinchenko; Odegaard, Jorginho, Rice; Saka, Havertz, Trossard

UNAVAILABLE:

QUESTIONABLE: Timber (Injured), Saka (Injured)

EVERTON TEAM NEWS: HARRISON OUT FOR THE EV

Sean Dyche has confirmed that winger Jack Harrison will not feature this weekend due to injury but the former Burnley boss is hopeful on the fitness of Andre Gomes.

The Toffees are also without a few other first-teamers as Dele Alli remains sidelined alongside Scotland international Nathan Patterson and Ukrainian defender Vitaly Mykolenko.

PREDICTED XI (4-5-1): Pickford; Coleman, Tarkowski, Branthwaite, Young; Garner, Gueye, Onana, Doucoure, McNeil; Calvert-Lewin

UNAVAILABLE: Patterson (Injured), Mykolenko (Injured), Alli (Injured), Harrison (Injured)

QUESTIONABLE: Gomes (Injured)

ARSENAL VS EVERTON PREDICTION

This has the potential to be quite comical of Sean Dyche does ‘do a job’ on Arsenal, whilst Manchester City are dropping points at home to West Ham. The likelihood, though, is that Arsenal will be determined to do their own part and will race out of the traps against an Everton side that will be forgiven for being ‘on the beach’. The expectation and likely reality is that this ends up in a comfortable home win.
