THE LOWDOWN

ARSENAL

Arsenal saw their unbeaten start to the Premier League campaign end with a somewhat controversial defeat to Newcastle last weekend, with VAR once again under the spotlight after the decision to award Anthony Gordon's goal.

The Gunners showed a good response on Wednesday though, as they saw off Sevilla in the Champions League to put them in a commanding position in their group.

BURNLEY

It's worrying times for promoted side Burnley at the moment, with the Clarets having lost their last five games in all competitions, and they are still yet to keep a clean sheet in the Premier League this season.

Their most recent outing was a 0-2 defeat to Crystal Palace last Saturday, with Jeffrey Schlupp and Tyrick Mitchell scoring the goals for the Eagles.

THE TEAM NEWS

ARSENAL

Mikel Arteta was typically vague in his pre-match conference regarding the availability of some of his players, so it is anyone's guess whether key assets Martin Odegaard, Bukayo Saka, Gabriel Jesus and Eddie Nketiah will feature.

Jurrien Timber, Thomas Partey and Emile Smith Rowe are the only players we know for certain will miss out.

PREDICTED XI (4-3-3): Raya; White, Saliba, Gabriel, Zinchenko; Havertz, Jorginho, Rice; Saka, Trossard, Martinelli

UNAVAILABLE: Timber (Injured), Partey (Injured), Smith Rowe (Injured)

QUESTIONABLE: Tomiyasu (Injured), Odegaard (Injured), Saka (Injured), Jesus (Injured), Nketiah (Injured)

BURNLEY

Striker Lyle Foster is not being considered for selection at the moment as he is dealing with some mental health issues, so Jay Rodriguez and Zeki Amdouni could continue as the frontmen here.

Hjalmar Ekdal, Manuel Benson and Michael Obafemi have all been working on their fitness with the U21 side lately, but their availability for the weekend is uncertain.

PREDICTED XI (4-4-2): Trafford; Vitinho, O’Shea, Beyer, Taylor; Gudmundsson, Berge, Brownhill, Koleosho; Rodriguez, Amdouni

UNAVAILABLE: Ramsey (Injured), Foster (Personal reasons)

QUESTIONABLE: Al-Dakhil (Injured), Ekdal (Fitness), Benson (Fitness), Obafemi (Fitness)

THE PREDICTION

Arsenal's midweek win over Sevilla in European action was the perfect tonic for Mikel Arteta's men after their bitter defeat to Newcastle last weekend, and they now embark on a rather favourable run of fixtures in the Premier League that should - in theory - keep them in and amongst the title challengers. Burnley are simply struggling to compete in the division, and the hosts look capable of shutting them out here in a comfortable victory.

BETTING TIP: ARSENAL TO WIN
