THE LOWDOWN

ARSENAL

Arsenal managed to hold on to a north London derby victory at the Tottenham Hotspur Stadium last weekend to keep up their title challenge. The Gunners went 3-0 up by half-time but were eventually nervy towards the end of the 90 minutes as Spurs pulled two goals back but Arsenal managed to hold on to a 3-2 victory.

That continued them overcoming their almost now traditional April blip in which they had suffered a 3-2 aggregate loss to Bayern Munich in the quarter-finals of the UEFA Champions League. That European exit came with legs either side of a 2-0 loss at home to Aston Villa. However, they have now enjoyed three successive victories in the league.

BOURNEMOUTH

Andoni Iraola has produced an entertaining and energetic AFC Bournemouth side that begin this weekend sitting tucked inside the top-half of the Premier League table and only a few points and places outside of the top seven and the European spots with three games of the 2023/24 campaign to go.

The Cherries’ most recent outing saw them make it back-to-back victories to nil after they hammered Brighton and Hove Albion by three goals to nil at the Vitality Stadium last weekend, which followed on from a 1-0 win over Wolves at Molineux. Bournemouth have now suffered just two defeats in their last ten matches.

THE TEAM NEWS

ARSENAL

In his pre-match press conference, Mikel Arteta was able to provide the declaration that the entirety of his Arsenal squad was 'fit and available' for this weekend.

That means Netherlands international defender Jurrien Timber is now in contention to play in the Premier League has he continues to build up his match fitness.

PREDICTED XI (4-3-3): David Raya; White, Saliba, Gabriel, Kiwior; Odegaard, Partey, Rice; Saka, Havertz, Trossard

BOURNEMOUTH

Andoni Iraola has confirmed that Antoine Semenyo's recent scan has come back clear and the Ghanaian international will be available for this weekend's trip to the Emirates Stadium.

The Cherries are also set to welcome back the likes of Illya Zabarnyi, Philip Billing and Romain Faivre but remain without Milos Kerkez, who is still missing through suspension.

PREDICTED XI (4-4-2): Travers; Smith, Senesi, Kelly, Ouattara; Semenyo, Scott, Cook, Kluivert; Solanke, Unal

UNAVAILABLE: Kerkez (Suspended), Fredericks (Injured), Adams (Injured), Tavernier (Injured), Sinisterra (Injured)

QUESTIONABLE:

THE PREDICTION

We have the potential for this one to be something of a thriller at the Emirates Stadium this weekend. Arsenal’s underlying numbers have remained magnificent but they have ever so slightly overperformed in the last couple of months so Bournemouth will fancy their chances of hurting them on the counter-attack. Even if they do, though, Arsenal will be expected to run out comfortable winners this weekend.

TIP: ARSENAL TO WIN & OVER 2.5 GOALS
