We had planned a meeting between Cristiano Ronaldo and Lionel Messi as these two sides both prepare for either the resumption of the Saudi Pro League or the start of the Major League Soccer. They face an Inter Miami side that, under the management of Tata Martino, will be hoping to push themselves towards the top end of MLS this season after missing out on the playoffs last year. There are so many sub-plots to keep an eye on in this fixture, too, as Lionel Messi reunites with former Barcelona teammate Luis Suarez for the first time as the Floridian franchise prepare for Messi's first full season playing domestic football in the United States.
The relative strengths of the SPL and MLS have been very intriguing for football fans over the last six months with difficulty in understanding or knowing which is the higher standard.
