THE PREDICTION
The 2021 Svenska Cupen final is a fairly surprising match-up between Hammarby and Hacken, third place and sixth place of last season’s Allsvenskan, respectively. This season, however, both sides find themselves even lower down the league, with Hacken in serious trouble after eight games played rock-bottom of the table and Hammarby only five points better off in eighth. The club that wins this final could well find their poor season drastically lifted and looks likelier to be Hammarby, though neither side is in any great form to speak of. Hacken’s journey to the cup final has come largely against lower-league sides and Hammarby’s 0-1 win away at current Allsvenskan champions last month is part of a much tougher route here. This could be a tight final seeing as the last two league meetings between them ended as 1-1 draws and so taking Hammarby to win outright here, or even double chance in favour of Hammarby in normal time, seems the most reasonable outcome.
