'Team TSZ' is a collective FPL team where tough decisions are made during uncompromising board room meetings. Team TSZ finished a lofty 1390 in its debut year, and followed that up with a respectable 88178 in its second season. How will the third season go? Stay tuned!

‘Team TSZ’ consists of:

Trystan Pugh

Alex Sarwar

HOW DID WE GET ON IN GAMEWEEK 31?

GW points: 50
GW average:
41
GW rank:
835,128
Overall rank:
178,736 (▲)

Team TSZ bounced back from their red arrow with gusto to reach their highest rank of the season at 178,736th and I am almost certain Trystan will mention that to a returning Alex within 10 seconds of the meeting for DGW32. Like so many FPL sides across the world, the bench spot of Stuart Dallas was too far down the pecking order to see the Leeds striker(?) come in, although captaining a player Trystan was fairly sure would get rested seems an odd choice. 59 points could have been so much more, namely 80 points, and I am definitely certain that Alex will mention that to Trystan within 5 seconds of the meeting for DGW32.

DOUBLE GAMEWEEK 32 TEAM

Formation: 3-4-3
Captain:
Kane (TC)
Vice-captain: Son
Transfers made: 1 (Dunk > Reguillon)
Point deductions: 0

“With hindsight we were mental to captain him” said Trystan, jumping in ahead of Alex’s prepared statement. The Skype logo had barely buffered away before last week’s decision-maker held his hands up, though Alex did add that they had also chosen the wrong goalkeeper for the 1000th time this season. The plan had been to swap out Ederson for Hugo Lloris ahead of Tottenham Hotspur’s double gameweek over the next ten days of Premier League action but the guys decided to change it up with a last-minute worse idea. Instead of picking nailed-on double starter Lloris, why not choose Sergio Reguilon, who has one point per game over his last five, in the hope that he starts both games ahead of a League Cup final?

Whilst checking on Twitter for any kind of stat to support the idea that yellow-card loving Reguilon was a good idea, Trystan briefly flashed us his 20+ open tabs on Google Chrome and I had to leave the conversation for a scream. When I returned, Reguilon was sitting in the spot of Lewis “due a goal” Dunk, and Alex was leading a moving tribute to the Brighton captain as if he was retiring from football with immediate effect. The phrases “he’s run his course… served us well… time for new ventures” were used and I almost shed a tear but, to be fair, I was still reeling from the tabs. Alex and Trystan assured me that ditching Dunk was for the best as they keep Esri Konsa and Lucas Digne in anticipation of their incoming doubles. There is no loyalty in FPL, just ask John Lundstram.

The call should have ended there, readers, and my attention span certainly did. However, a long and arduous debate about whom to triple captain between Harry Kane and Heung-Min Son played out over a ten-minute period. Of course, Spurs will face Southampton in Double Gameweek 32 having beaten the Saints 1-5 in the reverse fixture early in the season. Son got four goals that game and Kane all four assists, so Alex’s argument that the extra points for a midfielder’s goals and clean sheets gives the Korean a higher ceiling almost broke through. However, Trystan is the guy who shares the screen and as we all know: He Who Shares The Screen, Picks The Team.

The call should have ended there too, but doubt had entered the fray. Stuart Dallas sat proudly in the first XI and it was suggested this was a bad omen. Surely everyone who benched Dallas last week will bring him straight into the team this week for two points, even one? What if Raphinha’s yellow flag is real? Patrick Bamford? He’s a football player that might do something? Lewis Dunk could be a good shout? With their heads gone, Raphinha went from first team to first sub to second sub in less than a minute. Having spent the last few weeks planning ahead for now and next gameweek, this afternoon’s decisions seem wild.

This week’s Wrong Goalkeeper sponsored by The Stats Zone is: Ederson.

Thanks for reading, and good luck in the gameweek!
