'Team TSZ' is a collective FPL team where tough decisions are made during uncompromising board room meetings. Team TSZ finished a lofty 1390 in its debut year, and followed that up with a respectable 88178 in its second season. How will the third season go? Stay tuned!

‘Team TSZ’ consists of:

Trystan Pugh

Alex Sarwar

Adam Evans

HOW DID WE GET ON IN TRIPLE GAMEWEEK 35?

GW points: 111
GW average:
83
GW rank:
961,273
Overall rank:
162,365 (▲)

Team TSZ rode a minuscule green arrow of 900 places in Triple Gameweek 35 but a green arrow all the same in an equal-parts exciting and frustrating seven days of Premier League action. Roughly eight million FPL managers fell foul of Harry Maguire’s first two matches missed since the dawn of time, and so did Man Utd with back-to-back defeats that saw rivals Manchester City lift the trophy, somehow, even though it still feels like February. February 2020, in fact. Elsewhere, the guys picked the right goalkeeper for only the second time this calendar year and I am reliably informed that they are not going to mention Mason Greenwood.

BLANK GAMEWEEK 36 TEAM

Formation: 3-5-2
Captain:
Salah
Vice-captain: Kane
Transfers made: 2 (Maguire > Phillips / Bruno Fernandes > Salah)
Point deductions: -4

I asked for an earlier meeting today with my Asda delivery imminent and credit to Trystan and Alex they had practically finished their decisions by the time I realised what had happened. Settling in with my usual pint of water I like to sip once a minute during these skype calls, like an hourglass that gets more pessimistic with every gulp, I had barely started sighing before Bruno Fernandes was swapped out for Mo Salah. The thought process here is three winnable fixtures for Liverpool in the ascendency is certainly a period of time you want the Golden Boot favourite in your squad, whilst Bruno Fernandes has a Europa League final to prepare for. Those three winnable fixtures could well see a clean sheet or two, so Nat Phillips comes in for the injured and blanking Maguire with Team TSZ opting for a -4 for the second week running.

This week’s Wrong Goalkeeper sponsored by The Stats Zone is: Ederson, though not without a great deal of arguing.

“Come on Trystan don’t play with me! Look at their record!” shouted Alex, scrolling through his favoured tome ‘A Brief History of What Happened Last Time’ by H. Indsight.

“Just because things don’t happen in the past doesn’t mean they continue in that trend forever!” retorted Trystan, withdrawing his head into his t-shirt like an exasperated turtle. So it was then that having made two transfers in record time I settled back in for a long afternoon of pop Philosophy. The debate then moved to Jesse Lingard, or not to Jesse Lingard. The West Ham talisman has been a little subdued of late and it was a question of playing Raphinha, still returning from injury and perhaps unlikely to start given Bielsa's comments, Lingard or Ezri Konsa versus Crystal Palace. Lingard almost sat on the bench before I interceded with a quote from my favourite almanac ‘Ex-Players Score Goals’ by Emmanuel Adebayor et al. Jesse Lingard had a loan spell at Brighton & Hove Albion, I proffered, and that means he’ll score at least 20 points.

In a rush as my shopping was imminent I refused, however, to help them pick between Raphinha and Konsa. This week’s substitutes are linguine instead of spaghetti, Quorn veggie sausages instead of Richmond and, somehow, coconut flavoured yoghurt instead of plain - but enough about Asda’s questionable alternatives. Team TSZ’s bench is: Martinez, Konsa, Iheanacho and Azpilicueta and that omitted double Villa defence looks a mistake from over here.

Thanks for reading, and good luck in the gameweek!
