FPL season comparisons – Teemu Pukki vs Chris Wood

After starring in the Championship as Norwich gained promotion to the Premier League, Teemu Pukki (£6.5m) has managed to successfully make the step up despite his team not gaining the results they would have wanted. Meanwhile, Burnley's Chris Wood (£6.1m) has continued to prove himself as a solid, dependable Premier League forward who if given chances will find the net.

Pukki started the season on fire but has tailed off in recent weeks gone by. However, he has managed to score 11 goals this season, an impressive feat for a side bottom of the table. He also has three assists and 21 bonus points. This has led to him picking up a total of 127 FPL points over these last 29 gameweeks.

Wood also has 11 league goals to his name but two less assists than Pukki. The Kiwi has accumulated 16 bonus points but has acquired 18 FPL points less than Pukki over the course of the season, with 109 to his name. Appearances may have played a factor in this, with Wood making 26 to Pukki's 28.

Both these players were priced at £6.5m at the start of the season which means this head-to-head can be judged purely on the stats in front of us. With 18 more FPL points to his name playing for a far weaker side, we have to favour Pukki here. Whilst Norwich may not be playing Premier League football next season, Pukki could well be.

Verdict: Teemu Pukki
