FPL season comparisons – Kasper Schmeichel vs Rui Patricio

Leicester's Kasper Schmeichel (£5.4m) and Wolves' Rui Patricio (£5.1m) have kept 18 Premier League clean sheets between them so far this season. We assess which of the two has proven a better Fantasy Premier League asset following the past 29 gameweeks of the 2019/20 season.

Schmeichel has kept ten clean sheets in 29 appearances, having pulled off a total of 81 registered saves. Despite only accruing six bonus points, Schmeichel has managed a total score of 119 FPL points after conceding only 28 goals.

Rui Patricio has not kept as many clean sheets as Schmeichel, nor made as many saves. The Portuguese international has kept eight clean sheets and pulled off 77 registered saves. He has, however, acquired eight bonus points which is two more than the Leicester stopper.

Only three points separate the two in total FPL points, with Patricio earning 116. However, both players were priced at £5.0m at the start of the season, making Schmeichel the more valuable asset having performed better than Patricio from an FPL perspective.
