FPL season comparisons – Danny Ings vs Dominic Calvert-Lewin

These two forwards have enjoyed a fantastic season thus far with both having provided crucial goals for their respective sides over the past 29 gameweeks. Southampton's Danny Ings (£7.1m) and Everton's Dominic Calvert-Lewin (£6.4m) have scored 28 Premier League goals between them and accrued 251 FPL points.

Ings' 15 league goals this campaign have been a key part of Southampton's recovery from early relegation peril to mid-table safety now. He's provided a single assist and with a massive 28 bonus points, has acquired 140 FPL points over the past 29 gameweeks.

Calvert-Lewin, meanwhile, has scored 13 Premier League goals himself, also providing a solitary assist. He trails on bonus points though, with 15, but has returned three 10+ point hauls, two more than Ings has. Overall, he currently has a total of 111 FPL points for the season.

At the start of the season, Ings was priced at £6.0m along with Calvert-Lewin, so to have gained £1.1m in price just shows how well Ings has performed. With 29 more FPL points than Ings over the course of the season, we have to favour the Saints striker in this head-to-head.

Verdict: Danny Ings
